Description
The Grade 1 Music Theory pack, which is based on the current (2020 onwards) ABRSM music theory syllabus, contains 26 games and activities plus 10 music quizzes. The games have been designed to require minimal preparation. Board games can be played immediately after printing. Games cards have straight edges and are accurately lined up so that they can be cut quickly. The games take an average of five minutes to play, meaning they can easily be used within a weekly instrumental lesson. The music quizzes are based on typical exam papers but condensed into one A4 sheet each, making them quicker to complete than full papers and reducing printing costs. Both UK and US terminology has been used where required.
If you don’t usually use games in your lessons, read about how to use games with younger children and how to use games with older children and adults.

Ten Music Quizzes with answers
Here’s what Tim Spoerer, founder of Jam-Bus, had to say about our Grade 1 and 2 Music Theory Packs:
“Last year I ran my first Music Theory Class with Years 5 & 6. It was an enormous success with the vast majority achieving Distinction Grades. It was largely in thanks to Teaching with Ease’s excellent music games. I set up the “Music Theory Games Arcade” for them every lesson and they really loved it. It gave a really fun thing to look forward to in lessons.
“Once the PDFs were downloaded, I could print them and laminate them meaning we can use them time and time again in the build up to their exams.”
